The postal operators of the UPU member countries who participated in these significant events had the opportunity to get acquainted with the history of postal services.
The commemorative stamp prepared on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the UPU at the initiative of "Azerpost" LLC was sealed and put into circulation on February 1 in the presence of Masahiko Metokin, Director General of the International Bureau of the Universal Postal Union, and Fuad Iskenderov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein. Azerbaijan brand was the only brand stamped during this event.
Masahiko Metoki expressed deep gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for this initiative. He noted that the postage stamp in question is already a part of the history of UPU.
Branded booklets were presented to the guests as gifts and the opportunity to use the "First Day" stamp was provided.
Khayyam Alizade, a member of the Board of Directors of "Azerpost" LLC, and Sitara Huseynova, the head of the Stamp Department, also participated in the event.
