"Baku has confirmed its status as a key site for the transformation of the postal sector"

Today is the last day of the “Postal Leaders Forum” hosted by the capital Baku.

On the third day of the forum, more than 150 high-level representatives from more than 30 countries from Europe and the CIS region - representatives of national postal services, technology and e-commerce companies and experts - discussed the transformation of the postal sector in response to global trends and digital disruptions.

Alexey Borodin, Director General of the Regional Communications Union for the CIS countries, shared his thoughts on holding such a prestigious event in our country: “Azerpost” has always been one of the most advanced and developed enterprises in the region. We know that many modern services are being implemented, and financial and digital services have also been launched at the state level. Of course, Azerbaijan, due to its geographical location, acts as one of the important logistics centers and routes. I think that this geographical location of Azerbaijan, favorable logistical features and the innovative services implemented are one of the main starting points for development in our region. This will contribute not only to the formation of alternative routes, but also to the creation of additional routes. We know that the volume of transportation, postal items and digital financial services is increasing. There is also an increase in money transfers between states. We believe that these two factors - the geographical location of Azerbaijan and its modern infrastructure - play an important role in the formation of additional development points in the region. This will not only increase the economic potential of Azerbaijan, but also increase the attractiveness of the region in terms of logistics routes and digital financial services.”

It should be noted that the “Postal Leaders Forum” was held in Baku on May 13-15, organized by the Universal Postal Union, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and “Azerpost”, which operates within the Azerbaijan Transport and Communications Holding.
