Azerpost LLC represented at the Universal Postal Union seminar

A seminar with the participation of 23 experts comprising ministries, regulators and postal operators from 13 countries was recently arranged in the city of Tbilisi, Georgia. Azerpost LLC was also represented at the seminar, held by the Universal Postal Union to design and shape a national postal policy for Europe and the CIS region. Global trends in postal organisation were discussed at the seminar and new directions were analysed. Each representative shared his or her experience at the seminar, which was packed with interactive discussions, case studies and group activities. Elgun Rasulov, a board member representing Azerpost LLC, touched on the strategic tasks covering Azerpost's renewal period at the meeting, noting the steps undertaken.

  • The new strategic period formed with the Boston Consulting Group, and its benefits;
  • Establishment and operation of modern post offices;
  • Reforms implemented during the transformation period at Azerpost and, as a result, the application of new methodological approaches;
  • Creation of modern management standards and their successful implementation in the organisation;
  • Future plans related to the realisation of long-term and short-term goals.

It would be also noted that the seminar arranged as part of the UPU's regional project on postal sector modernisation and development and hosted by the Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, was aimed to provide participants with the knowledge and tools needed to implement postal reforms and innovations.
