As we reported, "Azerpocht" LLC operating under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport has started a new international cooperation since 2023. So, last year, the national postal operator held consultations with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan on the construction of a mail sorting center, including improving the quality of work in mail transportation, and laid the foundation for cooperation for the next years.
As a continuation of the cooperation, the Japanese delegation in Baku today made observations at the mail handling center and post offices of "Azerpost" LLC and got to know the work process closely. Later, the Japanese guests who met with the management team of LLC in the central office made presentations and held discussions regarding the design of the new mail sorting center to be built.
It should also be noted that the Japanese company "EY Strategy & Consulting" acts as the project manager in this cooperation. Other major participants are Japan Post Holding, Toshiba, and Mitsui & CO. Thus, the aforementioned organizations are conducting research for the reconstruction of the mail sorting center. They will give their recommendations and support the implementation of the work in various areas for the implementation of mail transportation.
For your information, it should be noted that currently the mail transportation center of "Azerpocht" LLC has a completely old infrastructure and the sorting of postal parcels is done manually, which in turn seriously hinders the speedy delivery of mail across the country. However, as a result of the operation of the new mail sorting center to be built, the problem of speedy processing of mail shipments will be fundamentally solved, and thus the satisfaction of postal customers will be significantly ensured.
