“Azerpost” LLC being one of the AZCON Holding Companies has organized the 54th International Letter-Writing Competition communicated through Universal Postal Union (UPU). The topic submitted by International Maritime Organization and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is dedicated to the Ocean Conference of the United Nations to be held in June, 2025, and determined in the contest of “Imagine you are the ocean. Write a letter to someone saying that why and how people should care of you”.
The aim of conducting competition is to encourage the formation of ecological thinking, the development of creative and written expression skills, as well as the expression of personal views on global ecological issues among students. So, the students aged 9-16 who study in English participated at the competition held by “Azerpost”. Approximately, 60 schoolchildren have participated. The essays submitted was examined by professional English Teachers. According to the competition rules each country should submit an essay in English. Consequently, the 5th grade student Aliya Huseynzada’s essay who achieved the best result, was sent to the Central Office of UPU in Bern city, Switzerland.
During the event, Isi Musayev, Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Azerpost” LLC stated: “In addition to contributing to raising environmental awareness, creative thinking and global issue engagement among students, this initiative creates a platform for expressing themselves at an international level. The enthusiastic participation of Azerbaijani students at this competition is a sign of the progress of our sensitive citizens that approaches the environment with responsibility”.
While interaction with students, one of the event’s guests, Rashad Bayramov, an Adviser to the Minister of Digital Development and Transport, underlined the significance of continuous self-improvement through regular reading.
It is important to mention that the evaluation of other students within the country was carried out by “Azerpost”. The students who took the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, as well as all other participants were awarded with special gifts and certificates.
