Azerpost Limited Liability Company, together with the Press Council, is holding a research competition among representatives of the media (newspapers, magazines, news agencies, Internet resources, television and radio), dedicated to October 9 – World Post Day, on the topic “Transformation of traditional mail in the modern world and in Azerbaijan”.
1. Competition directions
The competition directions are as follows:
1. Factors contributing to the transformation of traditional mail and the best foreign examples
2. Results of the transformation period of Azerpost LLC
3. Advantages of digital solutions offered by Azerpost to customers
The above directions can be considered both separately (considering them specifically) and as a whole (each within the framework of the same competition material).
2. Award for participation in the competition
The competition prizes will be distributed as follows:
1st place: 5 people (including 3 representatives of newspapers, magazines, news agencies, Internet resources, 2 representatives of television and radio) - 1000 manats;
2nd place: 5 people (including 3 representatives of newspapers, magazines, news agencies, Internet resources, 2 representatives of television and radio) - 700 manats
3rd place: 5 people (including 3 representatives of newspapers, magazines, news agencies, Internet resources, 2 representatives of television and radio) - 500 manats
3. Competition terms
In the articles submitted to the competition, preference will be given to the following criteria:
- Completeness of the topic;
- Correct analysis of facts;
- Features of the use of facts and the quality of the research;
- Richness of means of expression;
- Degree of recognition for the reader;
- Meaningful comparison with the best world practice.
The competition accepts articles published in newspapers, magazines, news agencies and news websites between August 20, 2025 and September 20, 2025, as well as video materials for broadcast on TV channels and audio materials for broadcast on radio.
There are no language or genre restrictions for participation in the competition.
The volume of articles should not exceed 9-11 thousand characters (1 A3 newspaper sheet). There are no restrictions on the volume of materials for TV and radio channels.
Competition materials must be marked “Submitted for the competition on the topic “Transformation of traditional mail in the modern world and in Azerbaijan”, held jointly by Azerpost LLC and the Press Council.”
The media outlet in which the competition material is published must be registered in the media register. Materials published in media whose names are not included in the register will not be considered.
The author of the competition material must work in a specific media outlet registered in the media register, and the material submitted to the competition must be published in the media outlet in which he or she works.
4. Submitting articles
Submission of articles and multimedia materials to the competition is carried out in two ways - in person and electronically.
When submitting articles in person, the following must be indicated in the envelope:
- A copy of a document confirming the author’s work activity (a certificate or reference from the media);
- A copy of the author’s identity card;
- The author’s contact information - home, work and mobile phones;
- 1 copy of the newspaper or magazine in which the article submitted for the competition is published, a disk with multimedia materials;
- An electronic version of the material on an electronic medium (in Times New Roman font with the author's name indicated);
- If the article is published on an electronic medium, a link to the article on the electronic medium must be provided.
When submitting articles and multimedia materials in electronic form, the following must be taken into account:
Competition materials must be sent to info@presscouncil.az
The application must be accompanied by:
- The competition work (in Word format, without signature);
- A copy of the newspaper or magazine in which the competition work was published (in PDF, JPG or Word format);
- If the work was published on an electronic medium, television or radio broadcast, a link or other confirmation;
- The identity card of the author of the work or multimedia material, work record book or other document confirming the author's work in the media (in PDF, JPG or Word format);
- The author’s contact information (in PDF, JPG or Word format).
Materials for the competition are accepted from August 20, 2025 to September 20, 2025, on weekdays from 11:00 to 17:00 at the Press Council of Mammad Araz Street, 4, Baku, Azerbaijan.
Failure to comply with any of the competition conditions during the application process will be considered a violation of the rules and the application will not be accepted.
