An employee of “Azerpost” LLC, one of the AZCON Holding companies, has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Stamps and Philately Working Group of the “PostEurope” organization.
Established in 1993 to manage European postage stamps, ensure their development, as well as preserve the European tradition of stamps, "PostEurope" has been operating since 1996 as an officially recognized regional postal authority of the Universal Postal Union. Another objective of this body is to protect the interests of national postal operators against governments or national regulatory authorities responsible for postal sector policies.
The national postal operator "Azerpost", which entered the renewal and transformation phase in 2021, has been a member of "PostEurope" since that same year. As a result of Azerpost's close cooperation with this organization over the past 5 years and its support for its policies and activities, the organization initiated Azerbaijan's representation here. Thus, at the 139th meeting of the Board of Directors of PostEurope on June 11, 2025, it was decided to appoint Sitara Huseynova, Head of the Stamp Department of Azerpost, as Deputy Chair of the Stamps and Philately Working Group. It should be noted that Sitara Huseynova is the first Azerbaijani to be represented in this organization.
Under the leadership of Sitara Huseynova, the registration of Azerbaijani brands in the international official numbering system (WADP Numbering System) has been carried out, and the sale of local brands has been ensured in the international official sales platform "WOPA+". In addition, for 5 years now, stamps issued by Azerpost have been represented in the European Postal Competition held annually by PostEurope. During the last competition, the Azerbaijani brand "Blue Whale" was awarded the 3rd place by the judges and viewers.
